ADULT BASIC EDUCATION Program - ABE
Do you need to improve your basic skills, raise your TABE test
scores, or prepare for GED classes? Let us help you
improve your reading, math and language skills.
Adult Basic Education serves adults ages 16 and over whose test scores fall below the ninth grade level. Students receive assessment prior to enrolling, and are placed according to their personal needs and goals. Content areas include reading, mathematics, language, and workforce readiness skills.

Program Information
- Students may enroll at regular intervals during the school year.
- Classes are offered both days and evenings at our main campus site, as well as other conveniently located sites throughout Polk County.
- Classes are designed to satisfy a variety of needs, including preparation for GED-level classes, entrance into certain college-level and vocational programs, and strengthening of reading, math, language, and workplace readiness skills in order to compete more effectively in the world of work.
- Students receive individualized instruction.
- Computer-assisted instruction is an integral part of the curriculum.
- All teachers hold valid teaching certificates and are highly qualified.
