Important Notices on Testing

GED Testing Service® is releasing a new version of the GED® Test on January 1, 2014. Individuals who have tested on the current 2002 GED® Test Series must complete the exam series by December 31, 2013. Scores from the 2002 Series WILL NOT be combined with scores for the new assessment. Candidates who do not complete the current series will have to meet the requirements of the new test, starting January 1, 2014.  The GED® Tests cannot be taken online and can only be taken at an official testing center. Registration for the GED®Tests at West Area Adult School

In order to take the GED 2011-12 tests, you must first pre-register at one of the three locations listed below for a mandatory GED orientation session.  Seating for each orientation session is limited. Registration is done on a first-come/first-served basis, and generally closes at least one week prior to each orientation date.

Once registered you must attend an orientation session. At your orientation session you will complete a required demographic information packet and the forms necessary for your GED tests. Additionally, you will be shown a video designed to familiarize you with the scientific calculator provided for the math section of the test. 

 

Counterfeit Disclaimer:

In an effort to reduce the circulation of counterfeit U.S. monies, the school district will no longer accept any $50 or $100 bills at any school-sponsored event. We apologize for any inconvenience, but ask that you support this initiative. Please plan accordingly.

     2012 January-June   GED Testing Schedule

GED orientation sessions and GED testing will be held at West Area Adult School in Lakeland.

We are continuing to offer the GED test on one Saturday each month at East Area Adult School in Auburndale.  Please call the GED office at 863-534-7450 or 863-534-7451 for specific dates.

GED Test sessions have a limited capacity.

Your actual test dates are assigned at your orientation based upon available seating. Tests must be taken within 6 months of registration to avoid forfeiture of fees.

Note: Scores from tests previous to 2002 are no longer valid

The GED is available in either English or Spanish print. A request for the exam in Spanish must be made at the time of registration.

Testing Adults with Disabilities:  The GED Testing Program has long provided accommodations to candidates with disabilities and is committed to compliance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In an effort to make GED Tests accessible to all applicants, accommodations are made for candidates with diagnosed physical, mental, sensory, or learning disabilities who can provide appropriate documentation from a qualified professional of their impairment and its effect on their ability to take the GED Tests under standard conditions.

There are no refunds for any test fees. Examinees who miss their scheduled test date must call the GED office at 863-534-7450 the day following their original testing date in order to reschedule. Failure to test on one's scheduled test dates without calling the GED office will result in forfeiture of fees and registration. Test must be taken within 6 months of registration to avoid forfeiture of fees.
